Size Guide

hockey fit.

Hockey gear is the most complex sizing in mainstream sports — every piece is age + height + weight matrixed. Skates run 1–1.5 sizes smaller than your street shoe. Get fitted in-store for skates and helmets if at all possible; mail-order works for everything else.

Jerseys (over pads)

Hockey jerseys are designed to fit over shoulder pads. Order one size up from your normal apparel size for a true game fit.

Skates (Senior — most adults)

Fit notes

  • Skate width: D = standard, EE = wide. Widths are stamped inside the boot. Bauer runs narrowest, CCM medium, True/Graf widest.
  • Sticks: cut to mouth height (off ice) or chin height (on skates). Flex rating ≈ half your weight — 150 lb player runs a 75 flex.
  • Goalie gear sizing is entirely separate — pads, blocker, catcher, mask all have their own charts. See manufacturer for goalie-specific.
