Common questions

Baseball questions

  • What bat length and drop should I buy?

Bat length is fit to height; drop (length minus weight in ounces) is fit to swing speed and league rules. Youth USA-stamped bats are typically drop 10 to 13. High-school and college BBCOR bats are drop 3. Each bat PDP lists length, drop, and league certifications so you match to your league rule, not just personal preference.

  • Are USSSA and USA bats interchangeable?

No. USSSA and USA Baseball certify different barrel performance levels. A USSSA-stamped bat is illegal in USA-stamped leagues like Little League Baseball, and vice versa. Always check your league's certification requirement before buying. Both stamps appear on every relevant bat PDP.

  • Glove break-in: oil, mallet, or both?

Both, used sparingly. A small amount of glove conditioner softens the leather; a mallet shapes the pocket. Avoid soaking in oil or microwaving; both shorten the glove's lifespan. Most pro-level gloves take a season of real use to fully break in. Brand-specific instructions ship with the glove.
