Size Guide

tennis fit.

Tennis apparel follows standard activewear sizing. Grip size is the most consequential number on a racket — the right grip prevents elbow injuries. Court shoes typically run true-to-size; if you're between, size up by half.

Racket grip size

Measure from the bottom horizontal crease of your palm to the tip of your ring finger. That length in inches is your grip.

Grip sizePalm-to-ring-finger
4 1/8"4 1/8 in (junior / very small adult)
4 1/4"4 1/4 in (small adult)
4 3/8"4 3/8 in (most women / smaller men)
4 1/2"4 1/2 in (most men)

Fit notes

  • Between grip sizes? Go down — overgrip wraps add roughly 1/16" each. Going up is harder to undo.
  • Court shoes are categorized by surface: hard-court (most durable outsole), clay (herringbone tread, no toe drag panel), grass (pimple/nub outsole). Don't sub one for another — the wrong shoe ruins the court and shreds the upper.
  • String tension is taste, not size. Beginners: 50–55 lbs. Power players: lower (45–50). Control players: higher (55–60).
